I am delighted to announce that €4 million has been secured to continue the Grand Canal Greenway from Sallins to Clonkeen on the Offaly border.
This will be a fantastic addition for walkers, cyclists, and the entire community, providing a safe, sustainable, and scenic route for locals and visitors alike.
This funding is part of a €67 million investment in Greenways and Active Travel projects for 2025, showing the Government’s strong commitment to developing better walking and cycling infrastructure across the country.
This is very positive news for Kildare and working with Kildare County Council we will see these important Greenway projects being deliveredOn top of that, Kildare is set to benefit from:
€11M for road restoration improvements, funding for 8 bridge rehabilitation projects, and support for safety improvements on regional & rural roads
This is a huge boost for the area, and I look forward to working with Kildare County Council to see these projects delivered.
