I had a very positive meeting with Minister for OPW Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran last week in government buildings.
We discussed the ongoing and unacceptable impasse at Castletown House and I stressed the need to reopen access for the public and groups, maintain the house and grounds, enable staff access and essential services while protecting pedestrian access on Lime Avenue, and bring the whole sorry saga to a close.
I am confident that he grasps the issue and will now move forward on it with urgency.
