I am delighted to announce that new special needs classes have been sanctioned for the coming school year 2025/2026

These include:

• Caragh National School
• Scoil Chearbhaill Uí Dhálaigh Leixlip
• Scoil Eoin Phóil Primary Leixlip
• Naas Community College Post Primary Naas

I am further delighted to see that today it has been announced that 5 additional special classes have also been sanctioned for Kildare:

• Scoil Naomh Bríd, Celbridge
• San Carlo Junior National School, Leixlip
• San Carlo Senior NS, Leixlip
• Mercy Convent Primary School, Naas
• Robertstown National School, Prosperous

This is great news for the area as there has been a severe lack of places in special classes to meet the demand needed in recent years.

This is something that I have been engaging with the Minister on on an ongoing basis and these classes should have a very positive impact on families of children who are in need of these spaces.
