It was great to be at Maynooth University today to meet with staff for the Department of FHERIS staff day, alongside University President, Eeva Leinonen, and DFHERIS Secretary General, Colm O’Reardon.
I was especially proud to attend one of my first official events as Minister for Further and Higher Education in my home constituency, and to return to the campus I know so well, as both my wife and daughter are graduates of this university.
I want to extend my thanks to the President of Maynooth University, and all of the staff involved in organising this meeting. Our mission, as a Department, is to empower people and create opportunities for everyone— regardless of their background, challenges, or circumstances.
