Just before Christmas I was contacted by a group of residents on the way into Caragh over an ongoing issue with their drainage and issues stemming from adjacent land.

Vent provides temporary relief

Being Christmas Eve it was always going to be a tall order to get it sorted there and then but the Council did agree to install a vent at the site (The Streams Estate) and will follow up with a text message system to flag up any overflow alerts that can be monitored electronically.

It’s good to see the council utilising the available technology and credit for implementing the vent the day before Christmas too. I often criticise but credit when its due as well.
