This St Patrick’s Day, I represented the government in my capacity as Minister for Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation & Science in India. I was honoured to be afforded this opportunity to advocate for Ireland on the world stage. It was great to be able to show Ireland’s commitment to deepening our ties with India, and outline our vision for expanding partnerships with India.
The government is committed to facilitating top-quality international learners, researchers and innovators, strengthening the educational ties between Ireland and India, and ensuring that our collaboration benefits both our countries for years to come. I also met with many of the IDA and Enterprise Ireland businesses who trade in India and whom invest in significant operations in Ireland.
Ireland and India are dynamic economies that prioritise innovation and embrace new technologies. Whether it be in life sciences, space, big data & AI, semiconductors or financial services, there are significant opportunities for us to do more together.
I had hugely successful engagements all week with Irish/Indian businesses, Higher Education and cultural institutes, Indian government Ministers, charities and the Irish-Indian community in India.
