rS_0nvXJ_400x400Dublin Bus are overhauling their route network across the city and commuter belt.  Changes will take place to routes serving Celbridge, Maynooth and Leixlip. These are all only draft proposals and it is important that you have your say. You can see the detailed plans on busconnects.ie website or come to my information meeting on September 27th in the Courtyard Hotel, Leixlip at 20.30 to learn more.

Some of the changes for Maynooth, Lexilip, and Celbridge inculde:

  • New orbital route W8 starting from the Moyglare Road,
Maynooth and running through Celbridge onto Tallaght and
    Citywest.
  • New C4 service from Celbridge will go through Leixlip and on
into Dublin city centre. Provides a connection between Leixlip
and Celbridge but may be slower journey times into town as a
result. (New 67). Express buses will also operate on this route.
  • New C3 service from Maynooth to City centre via Leixlip (New
66). Higher frequency than current service.
  • New route 324 new express service at peak hours running
from Celbridge into south city & UCD (replaced 67X). NB
Proposed terminus of the 324 is at the roundabout just
    south of Salesians College.
  • New outer loop route 259 will run from Leixlip Confey / River
Forest through Leixlip village around the back of Celbridge and
    onto Hazelhatch train station.
  • NB Passengers going from Captain’s Hill into Dublin city would
now have to change Bus in Leixlip village from 259 onto C3/C4
    routes.
  • Green Lane (Leixlip village) will be served by the 259 and the
peak-only route 326 (Leixlip to city centre).
  • New express peak-time route 326 / 325 direct from
Leixlip to city centre and onto UCD.
  • New express peak-time route 323 direct from Maynooth
    to city centre and UCD.

It is important to have your say on these new routes. Bus Connects are taking submissions on the proposals and the closing date for these submissions is September 28th. I will be making a submission to the NTA on behalf of the peolpe of North Kildare and in particular Leixlip, Celbridge, and Maynooth.
