I am delighted that Maynooth has won the Purple Flag award. It was an honour to attend the campaign night in the Glenroyal recently and lend my support to North Kildare Chamber of Commerce and Kildare County Council. Based in Maynooth with my constituency office I am acutely aware of how hard businesses and local community groups worked for this award. All stakeholders can be very proud of their efforts on what is a great day for Maynooth.

It is my understanding up to 10,000 extra visitors will come to Maynooth following this award. This is only welcome news for the town as restaurants, hotels, and other businesses experience increased demand. I am keen to continue work with the Chamber and local businesses to help promote Maynooth for all.
