If, Buts and Maybes

It’s been a busy day on the campaign trail as I spent most the day out and about canvassing, leafleting or postering all around Sallins and Naas in the last big push to see the treaty safely passed next week. The opinion polls yesterday were a worry showing the No camp in the lead for the first time, but what irked me most was not the people who are voting against for genuine ideological reasons (that’s their prerogative in any democracy) but the significant segment who were voting NO because they “don’t kNOw”.. A huge amount of information has been put into circulation by both sides and the independent Referendum Commission has sent a detailed booklet to every household. So I am hoping people will take the time over the weekend or in the closing days to digest the literature, read up a few articles, weigh up the pros and cons and make an informed decision.

    New Blog…

The first few posts are self-explanatory. St. Conleth’s Catholic Heritage Association has been to get the Latin Mass in the Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin since 1995. We’d be very glad if you could (a) post about the new blog and (b) link to it.

In particular, we’d be glad if you could bring to the attention of your readers the news that there will be a Walking Pilgrimage for Vocations on Saturday, 12th July, 2008, commencing at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid’s Church, Milltown, County Kildare, Ireland, with a Latin Mass (Latin Chant included).
