Canal Harbour Upgrade

The upgrade of Sallins Canal Harbour is on track to be completed this June. As residents will be aware, dredging of the canal has completed and construction of the jetties will begin next. The long term house boats will be moving closer to the school and will have a protective, private jetty area. The area in front of the pubs will be aimed at short-term pleasure boating and will be landscaped accordingly.

The canal bank on the pubs side will include a large, flat grass area and picnic tables. Also all cables will be placed in ducting underground and the current ESB pole and wires will be removed. Finally the boundary and wall along that side will be replaced with a stonework finish and black hand railing in keeping with the school side of canal.

Any chance of railings running along side the bridge don’t know how a child hasn’t been killed yet

Seems the bridge on the other side of the road has been damaged by the trucks entering and leaving (the side that had graffetti recently). Let’s hope they repair that damage.
