Ballymore April Updates

1. Drainage Scheme at School

In January I met with Mrs. O’Flynn, principal at Ballymore NS, to inspect the flooding propensity and I followed up by requesting the County Council carry out an investigation (see my earlier post here). Thankfully they have followed through on this and have now committed to flood alleviation works here over the next year. I will monitor these works and keep the pressure on.

2. “Brook of Donode” Tree

I had requested the council to remove the old tree earlier this year as it had become withered (see my earlier post here). I had hoped the council would replace it with a new tree but they have advised they are “considering the safety implications at the junction” at present. I suspect this means they may re-align the junction instead. I will keep you posted on what they decide.

3. Ballymore Local Roads

I am aware of a number of roads around Ballymore requiring attention. I raised these with the Council and with Deputy Sean O’Fearghail. The Deputy advised me last month that Whiteleas was to receive attention, I will keep onto the council about this and the other areas where works are required. If I am elected in May I will have more sway on these matters!
