Sallins Business Association Launched

I was delighted to host the first meeting of the Sallins Business Association which took place on Monday 6th January. This is something I had organised over the past few months for which the main focus of the association to simply make Sallins a better place to do business.

The meeting was well attended with over 30 local retailers and business owners. A special thanks to Tara Lane from the Kilcock Business Association who offered some advice on the night about their experiences setting up a similar group. I have seen the idea work elsewhere and with the number of businesses now trading in Sallins I felt it was definitely worth a go here too.

Progress Update on Sallins Bypass

There is welcome progress on the Sallins bypass and M7 interchange as it has been confirmed that the next stage of the project is about to commence. The project went to public consultation last May and is now advancing to the next stage of detailed design works.

Alternative Ignored by Minister Rabbitte in Telephone Allowance Cut

Ignoring panic calls system but cutting telephone allowance not acceptable.

I was less than impressed at Minister Rabbitte for his disregard towards the elderly and disabled in light of axing their telephone allowance. This regressive approach by the Minister for Communications towards elderly people and the disabled leaves them in probable danger and perhaps helpless as a consequence.
