My Lovely Horse Dáil Briefing this Week

My_Lovely_Horse_Dail_BriefingI was delighted to attend an engaging discussion on animal welfare with MyLovelyHorse Rescue centre in Dáil yesterday. I knew MLHR when they just started in Kilteel and it’s great to see how they have grown their services and setup.

A badly needed resource and the politicians that attended the session all pledged to work together on improving legislation and resources. Well done to Gino Kenny TD for organising the briefing and for his work with Clondalkin rescue centre.

I look forward to visiting the new My Lovely Horse shelter, just setup at Enfield.

Cllr. Carmel Kelly and I at Sallins Train Station Recently.

I am delighted that Sallins, Naas and Kilcock train stations will be moved into the ‘short hop zone’ and fares will be reduced by up to 50% following a series of meetings I held with the National Transport Authority (NTA) on the matter.

I am delighted to confirm a new GP has been appointed to Johnstownbridge Health Centre. This is a credit to all involved with the Save Our Surgery Committee, the 1000’s who gave their signatures and testimonials to the HSE, and David Walsh of the HSE.

I had raised this matter in the Dáil chamber just last week and have been in constant talks with the HSE. This and the lobbying from Save Our Surgery Committee has clearly delivered results. Continue Reading →

I was delighted to sponsor the prize for “first local home” in the recent Naas 10k race and last week I presented it to Feidhlim Ó Dubhlaing, who lives on the Sallins road, Naas. Feidhlim got home in the terrific time of 36 minutes and 6 seconds.

A lot faster than me!

Feidhlim will now enjoy a meal in the Dáil restaurant and a tour of the house. Big thanks too to race sponsor Kerry, and of course race organiser Brendan Loughlin.
