Red, blue and green

I just had lunch in a Palestinian restaurant (falafels and vine leaves). Last night I rebuked a self described Zionist Torah follower from abusing my facebook page (note to editors, his facebook political category read as “UK Tory; US GOP; Israel Likud; Ireland Fine Gael”).
The two events are not particularly related. But just struck me how local the world has become. And whilst ‘yer man’ was of the thirteenth tribe, he had a Wexford connection (probably how he found me).
I drafted a longer blog entry earlier which on re-reading I’ve realised is my own realisation of Obama’s blue state / red state 2004 DNC address. That we “are not so divided as our politics may suggest”. Will publish later or tomorrow..
